Artists talking to artist Neerpelt (Belgium), 2nd – 5th February 2010
Seminar for artistic reflection between European artists and organizers

The Europe of artists working in public space is being built in Neerpelt (Belgium) from 2nd to 5th February 2010, at the invitation of IN SITU, the European network for artistic creation in public space.
“Artists talking to artists” is a seminar for artistic reflection focussing on the creation projects of seventeen artists from throughout Europe chosen by seventeen festival directors who are members of IN SITU. It is designed to accompany the artists from the writing stage of an artistic project onwards.
The guest artists will present a rough outline of their next production while respecting the rule that they have been invited not to sell their show but to share their doubts, their questions and their current thought process. In accordance with clearly defined protocols and supported by plenary sessions, thematic workshops and informal discussions, the artistic projects will be presented, explained, scrambled, dissected and enriched by all those present.
This experimental laboratory for new urban writing is part of the Rendez-vous pilot project encouraging the mobility of artists and financed with the support of the European Commission (DGEAC).
The meeting will give rise to a public restitution during a conference in Brussels and a publication in the ViaEuropea.eu on-line review in January 2011. Rendez-vous is implemented by IN SITU and led by Lieux publics - Centre national de creation - in Marseille.
The meeting will be held at the Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof in Neerpelt, the cultural and sports centre for the province of Limburg (Belgium) which organises the Theater op de Markt festival and manages the Dommelhof production unit.
